Howlong was Maradona on his prime? Messi has been prime for 16 out of 17 years and counting
Ale moreno always get carry away with analysis
Messi scored in the World Cup final. Maradona never did. Messi is the best.
The best players of all time🐐😤!!!
Alejandro Enrique Moreno Riera (born July 8, 1979) is a Venezuelan former footballer who played as a forward, and who is currently a television commentator for ESPN FC, ESPN Deportes and ESPN Latin America. Moreno won three MLS Cups during his professional career. Moreno was chosen in 2021 to work as a commentator in the 2020 European Championship.
Maradona is absolutely the best player of foot ball..
The goat debate is over messi is better than cr7
Messi is the goat

YOUR GOALS WERE ❤️ ,PENALTIES SLICK
SO HAPPY FROM A BRITISH BANGLADESHI 🇧🇩
I guess he is now
Argentina has just won the cup. MESSI MESSI MESSI. THE GOAT DEBATE IS OVER.
Messi has just scored in the world cup final.
PESSI
MESSI WILL LOSE WORLD CUP FRANCE MBAPPE ON TOP
And if he looses he still the goat
Ale Moreno played his entire career in MLS and is a worse commentator than he was a player. He genuinely might be one of the worst commentators/analyst at the moment. If you hear him speak, you'll quickly realize it really doesn't matter what he thinks of any professional footballer
Football fans from another galaxy also want Argentina and Messi to win
Ale was lying about watching Maradona with his father. Until, 1989 Italian league was only broadcasted inside Italy and by that time the best years of Maradona has gone already
Maradona is all time best player..he played in an era where referees were not lenient at all on forwards.. actually nothing at all..had to break bones to get even a red card .whereas now if a defender runs very very fast near messi or Ronaldo the referee indicate dangerous play ..
If terms of player legacy he already passed him but not for international reputation
These debates are always stupid. Because there are so many categories and parameters and there's no way of comparing different eras 1 for 1. Statistics are important but they don't mean everything imo. Because eras constantly change, styles constantly change, footballing philosophies change as does the technology. How are you going to compare guys from THIS era who play with a ball that travels fasters, who benefit from better sports medicine and dieting, who play on better pitches and a way more attack minded era to guys in the 80s and 90s??? Those guys played with a cabbage on uneven dirt fields, had nowhere near the same level of sports medicine and dieticians, AND played in what was a extremely defensive minded era. 1-0 and 2-0 wins were a norm. Teams parked the bus, defenders had more license to foul and rough up attackers. And there were far less "super teams" around where all the talent was concentrated. In Maradona's day Italian teams could only have 2-3 foreign players and THAT'S IT. So you couldn't buy all the best players from around the world even if you wanted to and even if you had the money.
As mentioned football wasn't as high scoring in the 80s and 90s and even early to mid 2000s as it is now. That's not an opinion it's FACTS. Go look up recent league tables in EPL, Serie A or whatever and look at the number of goals the best teams from said leagues score NOW vs what teams used to score back then. There's no comparison. Obviously when the game becomes more attack minded and higher scoring the players statistics go up! It's basic logic. That's why the EPL, Serie A, Bundesliga, La Liga AND the UCL single season records have all fallen or been tied over the last decade or so. Even by players like Higuain and Immobile. Would anyone objectively pick Immobile or Higuain over Ronaldo Fenomeno, Roberto Baggio, George Weah, Shevchenko, Del Piero, Crespo, etc? Probably not. Yet Higuain and Immobile managed better outputs in Serie A than all of those players I just mentioned.
As far as "team success" goes Messi might win ONE World Cup. Same as Maradona. And as good as he's been at this World Cup Maradona in 86 was better. They each had 5 goals but Maradona had 5 assists to Messi's 3. Again, in a LOWER SCORING more defensive more rugged era. Where defenders could and did try to break legs. Not to mention 3 of Messi's goals have been pens. And Maradona scored one of the most iconic goals in football history with "The goal of the century" vs England in 86. You can bring Messi's club titles into play, sure. Problem is he played on the most talented and stacked team of his generation when he played for the 2005-2015 Barca sides. A team which had the core of the Spain national side which won 3 straight major tournaments from 2008 to 2012. A team which already won the UCL with Messi missing the end of that season and not even being an out and out starter yet while he battled Ludovic Giuly for minutes. Essentially, that was already the best team in Europe by a mile even without Messi. It was essentially an all-star team at club level. A team that dominated the ball, dominated chances and provided Messi with countless opportunities every single match for an entire decade. How can you compare that to Maradona at Napoli? Serie A was THE BEST league during that era, and Napoli were near the bottom when Maradona arrived. Never won a single title before him or since. They had maybe 2-3 really good players like Careca and the rest were random Italians. Maradona dragged that team to titles against the likes of the legendary Milan sides that had the Dutch trio of Van Basten, Gullit and Rijkaard along with Baresi and Maldini. Or the Juventus sides with Platini and Boniek or Inter who had Lothar Matthaus.
I'm not saying one is better than the other. I'm saying that objectively it's simply impossible to compare when you actually take facts and circumstances into account. Personally I'd go with Messi, but that's mostly because I got to see a huge sample size of Messi and none of Maradona. Except for odd footage here and there.
Maradona is one of the greatest players however the comparison between messi and him aren't even fair. Messi by a long shot
Most of these people have never seen Maradona play. I have, Maradona was better.
Can that balding dude just be quiet
Dear Ale you need to know that Messi and his fans never care what you think and believe in. He is above of your so-called analysis.
Will be one of my happiest days seeing Messi lift that trophy
Even without winning the world cup to me Messi is the GREATEST. But the World Cup will end the discussion, he will be the best ever, period.
messi is to good to some player be better than him!
Maradonna didn't score in the 1986 finals. Burruchaga scored the winner unlike Higuain missing for Argentina and denying Messi the WC in 2014
Messi is Maradonna everyday!!
Ouch😂
All the best for Messi and Argentina team. God bless Messi and Argentina 🙏🏻🇦🇷🏆🐐
