Barcelona's struggles reminiscent of Lionel Messi with Argentina – Ale Moreno | Champions League

Barcelona turned in another listless performance vs. Slavia Prague, drawing 0-0 in their 4th group stage match of the UEFA Champions League. Alejandro Moreno of ESPN FC says the game reminded him of how Argentina plays with Lionel Messi in the sense that 10 players were left waiting for Messi to work magic to get a result.

  1. Barca lost their identity last year. The players don't know where to be, lack options to pass and move the ball. They relied on messi last season and he delivered, but you can't rely on him every game especially when he's coming back to fitness. Valverde has to go

  2. Sadly for Barcelona, Slavia Prague is the team nobody gives credit to fully YET….but even last year, Chelsea coach Sarri said Slavia is physically the best team he faced in 20 years, having the most runs in high speed…so Barcelona wasn't THAT bad, Slavia is just consistently good now. Eliminating Sevilla, 3 goals scored at Stamford bridge, draw at San Siro, draw at Nou Camp. Slavia Prague yearly budget (for everything) is only 25 million Euro.

  3. Barcelona looks like Argentina? Argentina right now is killing it, maybe it looks like Sampaoli's Argentina, but definetely not Scaloni's Argentina.

  4. Everyone complaining about tactics however no one mentioned that Barcelona ran 12km less than Slavia Prague. That has nothing to do with the tactics but with the mentality. I agree that they aren't tactically great however if they aren't running more they will struggle.
