Lionel Messi’s Argentina face Colombia in qualifying for the 2022 World Cup, live from Estadio Metropolitano, just days before Copa America begins. Lionel Scaloni will be hoping to welcome back new Barça signing Sergio Agüero to his team, who will be hoping to combine with his good friend Messi out on the field.   9. Scaloni is not a manager with a vision to make a great difference to Argentina's progress in Copa America. The team is too dependent on Messi to win . The others are yet to prove their mettle in big matches .

  14. As long as ocompos is kept out of the side, Argentina will have better attacking options going forward.
    If we had a player like Dybala in the midfield then messi don't have to drop to deep all the time..

    Seems everyone always looking to pass the ball to messi just like those youngsters in Barcelona, they need to be confident in playing a system and not over rely on messi..

    Foyth did some excellent skills against Chile. Impressed by him and DePaul.

    Parades tackling is excellent, reminds me alot of mascherano.

    Tagliafigo when he first started reminded me of Sorin as a wing back but I think with Ocompus clueless and stagnant, this prevented tagliafigo from attacking that left side..

    Lisandro Martines should start, he looks solid, and C Romero should get more game time at the back.

    Not a fan of Otamendi, if given a chance, his experience should help at the back, but I personally won't give him a chance in such a huge game.

    Di maria showed some snippets of what his capable of, but get easily bullied off the ball, he should try not to loose the ball so much in the middle of the park.

    Aguero should be given a full 2nd half along with Martinez as a duo.

    In goal EMI Martinez should be given more games and cement his place as the number 1 goal keeper.

    If messi play in the final 3rd of the field most of the time, his likely to score 2 or 3 goals per match.

    Hence a player like Riquelme is needed.

    We need to search for the new Requilme.

    Cm – paredes and de paul.
    AMF- messi
    Lw.- buendia
    Rw- di maria
    St- aguero.
    This team is now a real threat.

  23. I'm an Aussie and I care more about the Argentinian team than I do about the Australian team. Obviously, I'm a ridiculously huge Messi fan.
    Soccer isn't a popular sport here in Australia, but I admire it, I like that it doesn't discriminate the way so many other sports do in terms of who can be good at it, you can be any size and still be incredible.
    Plus it's important to appreciate the GOAT whilst he's still playing. I truly believe we'll never see a player of Messi's talent ever again, sadly. So he needs to be appreciated whilst he is here. We'll be telling people 30+ years from now what it was like to watch the greatest ever.
