Goals from Gabriel Jesus and Roberto Firmino booked Brazil’s place in the Copa América final. But Argentina certainly didn’t go down without a fight, after Sergio Agüero and Lionel Messi both hit the woodwork. And Argentina also had two strong penalty appeals turned down.

  1. Argentina are out, but they certainly didn’t go down without a fight. And Messi certainly arrived on the big occasion and was agonisingly close to scoring. I’ve also seen a few replays since uploading and I can’t believe Argentina weren’t awarded AT LEAST one penalty tonight… What’s your thoughts?

  9. So what you rember when PSG lost to barca in the UCL they didnt complain at all just because he loses he can talk shit and say something If you cant win the ball you cant win with a refere as well and thank the whole brazil squad not only coutinho and arthur melo

  11. It was totally match fixing. It can clearly see. I was a big Brazil fan but now I’m not. Really sad about it.. please don’t do such things again Brazil because you are loosing international fans – from USA

  19. The referee was absolutely right on both alleged pks. First, Aguero steps on Dani's foot, then clearly dives, and the ball did not make it into the box for a play to happen as it was intercepted. How in heavens is that a pk?

    Second, Ottamendi purposely and knowingly ran into Lucas who has the right as a defender to stand his ground. Lucas raised his arm next to his body for protection. Ottamendi fell like a sac of potatos to enbelish it. Never been called a penalty.

    This are only penalties in the eyes of people like Messi who are frustrated that he can not perform at the international level. Remember Messi and Aguero, this is not Barcelona or city.

  28. Brazil made sure that what happened in the World Cup, will not happen again, no 7/1 defeats, this time the man in the middle saw to that, I wonder why he did it, maybe he likes the Samba. This win is tainted. Another 6 Copa America for Brazil and they will have 14 like Argentina.

  31. Yet more disappointment for Argentina. At this point i think Messi should just retire from international football. He has done all he can but it doesnt seem to be working.

Argentina lost the game because of bad officiating. two penalties could have been given to Argentina. even Messi, the Goat for the first time blamed game's bad officiating and Brazil captian Daniel Alves agreed. and told that refree was so nervious and couldn't handle the game. and that luck was their side. It is so sad. Argentina and Messi deserved more tonight.
