  1. The players not want to win it for Messi but for country. It's been 37 years since Argentina won it.
They saw the last chance to win it with Messi for their country, this's why all the players giving it all.

  2. Unpopular opinion, but argentina haven’t looked great in this tournament. No real style to their play nor do they really look very dominant. Other teams at the semifinal look better.

  3. Its clear that messi is playing the same role maradona played 86. He is waiting in the attacking third receiving the ball scoring goals for himself and creating scoring chances for his team mates. Marodona did likewise 86 provided assits for alll 7 games and scored 5 goals overall. Can messi replicate such a feat? Yes he has, but not exactly the same, "maradona did not score one penalty" anyway 4 goals from 5 matches is great 2 more games to go. Can he do it? The moment of truth awaits us.

  4. Mess is 3 times champions league winner (don't exaggerate). what contribution he gave in 2006?. & even he win this tournament it means nothing added to his greatness since he faced weak opponents in the 1st 5 games. for me players that turned the tie over big opponents are greater than him such like CR7, Benzema, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Robin, Bajjio,…. & above all the ultimate MARADONA

  5. Absolutely agree with steve nicol. Its really concerning that argentina players won't be able to compose themselves, especially their substitutes and even starting players like otamendi who don't know when to commit fouls at all.they should be able to lead with atleast 2 or 3-0 to be able to calmly see out the game.

  6. Robson speaking nonesense as usual. Otamendi and De Paul are weak? Did he watched Argentina's games so far in the tournament? I guess no. They are solid and did great job, Romero and Lisandro are very good too. Fernandez and Alvarez knock it out of the park, Mac Allister is very good. Acuna and Molina did great. Come on, Messi is arguably the best player in the history, if you put him in french team, all around him will look like average player except probably Mbappe. Football is a team sport, what Messi did in 2018 with that garbage team? Nothing.

  7. These people are nuts. What about Croation and French squads. Most of the Argentine players play top clubs in top top leagues. It's not easy to get into English, Spanish clubs unless you have something special. With athletico not only De Paul even Griezman, Jao Felix no one playing well.

  8. Not sure you guys will agree on the perfect world cup win that Messi and Argentina are going to … I am saying perfect that means they are going to lift world cup wining over Croatia in the semi and France in the final… more clearly revenge of 2018… mark my word. I know no one believes this but this is exactly going to happen.

  9. This bald guy seems to have something against Lisandro. I've seen him criticising him a lot while he is actually their best defender. Lisandro has actually been in really good form even for United this season.

  10. The British pundits are so clueless and arrogant it's not even funny. Coming from a country who's only major trophy was won back in 1966 when only 16 teams took part in the world cup, you'll think they'll be humble. To call the rest of the Argentine team ordinary players is insulting to say the least. Football is not won by 1 player. This current Argentine team is made up of talented players who fight for each other and function effectively as a team. The overhyped English team has lost to every proper team that they've met in the last 3 major tournaments. Harry Kane is over rated and only scores penalties for England yet these pundits rate him highly. Losers!
