23. As a dutch fan I have seen the great Dutch teams in the past going to the world cup, play great football and finally return empty handed. So, it was ok to see Van Gaal's setting up his team to play nasty but getting results. In the end he failed again and for a second time.
    In 2014, he has great attacking options, but played passive defensive football because defense was very week. OK, if that looks logical, in 2022 he has great defenders but relatively week going forward, and again he choose to play passive defensive game. This defies logic. He should have trusted his defenders and let Frenkie do the magic in midfield and Gakpo / Dumfries and even Simmons to do the talking up front. The team has good enough passing game to create openings. But instead he killed the team, brought Jansen, left Gravenberch and Botman at home..played Blind to fit to his slow passive style..and pretended he is doing something genius..
