  1. The fact he'd been to the final in 2015 and 2016 but lost them BOTH to penalties (plus the gut wrenching World Cup final loss in 2014), makes me so happy Messi is finally able to win a trophy with Argentina. Trying to cope with coming THAT close so many times sounds so, SO mental exhausting. And that's only made more difficult with the constant Maradona comparisons and the unrealistically high expectations for him to single-handedly carry his team. Glad he got an international trophy, Messi absolutely deserves it.

(Ngl tho the main reason they finally won was because Higuain wasn't there to bottle every single chance in the final)

  2. Both Messi and Ronaldo deserved to lift a trophy with their national teams. It’s football justice for both. They have given so much joy to billions of people in the world and it’s so good that now they both have won a major trophy for their countries. I don’t need anything else from them.

  3. He played successive world cups and Copa wearing Argentina shirt and the bald guy thinks that only after winning copa did Messi prove he isnt a Spanish! Wow.

  4. I love what they said… Not only the team mates wanted it for Messi out of duty but they truly wanted it for him out of love! Higuain missed so many clear chances in many finals, and most importantly, during the WC final in 2014.

But in the end, Messi was blamed for their loss despite being the top Argentina scorer…

  5. this Argentina with lots of youngsters along with world class goalkeeper they showed in Copa America that they r ready to die for MESSI and they know 2022 will be Messi’s last World Cup. Messi will play without holding any pressure. Team performance and Messi’s leadership will be possible for Argentina to win the World Cup 2022.

  6. If Argentina play the way they did in the whole Copa America tournament, no team in the world cup will beat them. The big IF, maybe Argentina does not have
great player now. Minus Di Maria, Messi, and some others. If they tackle and defend and press and play hard. Trust me WC would be easy for them. That
is why they won. Even a technical team like Brazil got beaten, because of the way of playing.

  7. Messi deserved the copa for sure but the people who defend Messi from criticism are also hypocrites. Everytime Argentina wins, Messi gets most if not all the credit but when they lose they expect Messi not to take criticism. A captain has to go down with his ship. Di Maria scored in the Final but its all about Messi, then how is it not fair then when Higuain misses its Messi's fault. If Higuain scored in the 2014 final, Messi gets the credit for winning Argentina the final, but if huguain miss then Messi must also take the blame.
