  1. I believe it’s not the players responsibility to deal with a pitch invader, it s the security team’s job. When the invader reaches the player, the best reaction of the player should b to comply until the security team arrives, because you , as a player don’t know the state of mind of the invader that comes and grab you, may be drunk or up to no good, so as in a hold up, you comply to limit the risk.

  2. What you have to remember is that this was in the us where security is way higher than Europe so a machete and cut him to pieces is over doing it as a fan I can understand why they jump and run to him they can’t help to want to be with their idle the best there is and ever will be

  3. A red card for interacting with a pitch invader that could literally harm you if they are mentally unstable and aggressive? When there is an invader, play is stopped completely so how is someone interacting with that person for FIVE SECONDS max a detriment to the game at hand? Its not like we have ever seen a player start horsing around with a fan and cause actual extra wasted time…Another awful take by the incredibly arrogant and frankly dumb Gab Marcotti.

  4. Argentina are yet to show they're fill potential. Martinez is gonna be that guy for Argentina in the world cup , Mark my words. Dybala has to play world class well , he definitely will be playing minutes in the world cup

  5. i am always in awe at how horrendous stadium security is in 2022. As if there aren't potentially 22 extremely valuable assets on the field to protect. You are there to watch not get on the pitch.

  6. I don't agree that they should punish the players with cards. They are only human and would be getting punished for caring about the fans. I think this is more security problems and finding new security measures to keep it from happening. I definitely don't agree with security tackling them down around the player though as it they could accidentally hit the player.

  7. Argentina will easily win group stage, but they might meet France/Denmark/Netherlands in knockout stages. Netherlands(underrated, best defence) and France are very good.

  8. Lol what kind of logic is that for a red card? That's one of the most ridiculous views I've ever heard. Not interacting with someone doesn't mean a violent situation can be prevented, given pitch invaders often run up behind players. There's been many times when Messi has been unaware they are behind him. Also, you have to look at the situation for what it was. The guy clearly wasn't a threat, considering he had his arms raised while his back was turned.

  9. you have to look at it this way. If i am messi and i see this guy coming twoards and i dont know if he is dangerous or not i better do everything he wants. What if its a psycho that pulls out a gun if messi doesnt want to give hime the autograph. It shouldnt be the players burden to deal with these situation but rather that of security.

  10. 2:12 Gab makes a really good point, it’s possible one day a pitch invader could have a motive to assassinate a player and I think players should be careful about these situations,we all think it’s just another pitch invader but it’s better to eliminate all risks so that something like that never happens.

  11. Fans invading the pitch has been happening forever tho! Lmao

Like, why suggest something like this, NOW?? 🤣🤣

    FIFA: “woah, that’s a great Idea ESPN 👀 “

And bam! Just like that, top players get red-carded and escorted from very important games, like err idk, a World Cup final? Lmaooo

What a dumb idea! Just tighten up on security!

    🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

  12. Gab is such a karen bruh 🤣🤣🤣 red card for interacting with a fan is this guy delusional? Its the security at fault for having the fan on the field in the first place

  13. Man, Gab just has to bring up Ronaldo when talking about Messi. Messi had three pitch invaders in one match. People literally go crazy everywhere he goes, and Messi's humbleness has to do with his organic, unprecedented popularity. Stop bringing him Ronaldo in Messi conversations, and disrespecting him. Give Messi his due without asinine comparisons.

  14. Messi has shown what he can do, when he is rested and ready. While at Barca he was playing every match and under immense pressure. Now at PSG he is quietly the best player on the team.
