  1. He's got an outstanding case with a loss on Sunday to still be the GOAT. But should he win on Sunday, there's no disputing it anymore. He's one of one regardless of Sunday's outcome. But even as a Ronaldo supporter, I find myself pulling for Argentina a bit. It would be a fairy tale ending, and this is bigger than me rooting selfishly for my own guy, CR7, to stay closer to Messi. At this point, let the mini magician get his. He deserves it.

  2. The big problem there is the Media they try to compare Mbappe vs Messi, a very talender Kid 23 Vs A 35 Yo Legend. Can we just Enjoy this historic moment without hate against Mbappe or Messi ?

  3. Have to respect France talent even though everyone wants messi to win including me. Just not feeling 100% confident they can contain france attack because they are really really good at crossing and headers.
    May the best team win.

  4. Everyone wants Messi to lift the 2022 world cup, I think we'd never had a player as loved and admired as Messi (like Dinho) by worldwide fans, it says a lot about his character.

  5. The only teams Mbappe has scored any goals or done any assists against so far this World Cup are Denmark, Australia and Poland, despite playing for the team with the best players and bench in the tournament.

Messi and Mbappe has the same goal contribution average (goals + assists) in the 22/23 Champions League so far.

Messi has a much higher goal contribution (goals + assists) average tham Mbappe in Ligue 1 so far this season.

Messi is 35 years old. He is still better than Mbappe.

  6. Fun Fact:
1.If France won the World Cup Final, it will not only become the first World Cup country to successfully defended their title since Brazil in 1962, but Didier Deschamps will become the second (only) World Cup coach to achieve this rare feat after Italy's Vittorio Pozzo did so in 1934 and 1938. In addition, the women's side had its own feat when USWNT's Jill Ellis did so in 2015 and 2019.
2.If Argentina won the World Cup Final, they will emulate Spain's 2010 success in South Africa. Spain were the reigning European champions at that time, while Argentina were also the Copa America winner. Both started their campaigns with a shock loss (Spain lost 0-1 to Switzerland, Argentina lost 1-2 to Saudi Arabia). They managed to bounce back and topped the group.

  7. Hard to believe there are people who are seriously trying to claim Mbappe will become the greatest ever if he wins two world cups… You have to be either very young or have a lack of understanding about the game if you think that's the case. Only Mbappe fans would claim this. After all, nobody who has watched football for a long time would think like that. By that logic, the same would apply to Griezmann. Mbappe is 23 and winning the world cup is a team achievement, as much as he deserves huge credit for what he's done. Meanwhile, Messi has been at the top for nearly 15 years, playing to a level not seen before, given his consistency and longevity too. His list of achievements are on a completely different level to Mbappe's.

Messi shone in one of the best leagues for his whole career, which Mbappe is yet to do. The same applies to the CL. Not to mention, Messi's list of individual achievements. He's on course to win a second world cup golden ball, has a record six European golden shoes, while Mbappe is yet to win one. Not to mention, those 7 Ballon d'Ors mean he has achieved something nobody else has. The likes of Maradona, Pele, CR, Zidane, even R9 are way ahead of Mbappe too. Of course winning two world cups would enhance the growing legacy of Mbappe but he's nowhere near the conversation at this point. And of course the obvious point is that Messi is a class apart as a footballer, given his creativity and dribbling in the tightest space is still superior to Mbappe, even at 35. I highly doubt Mbappe will be doing what Messi is at that age, given how much he relies on speed too.
