  1. Gab, you really don't understand Argentinean football. Guido Rodríguez is your typical old-school center-half. His role is not to create play, he's a stopper. You might think 'why did Argentina need a stopper against Mexico'? Because Scaloni knew Mexico were going to press high and he needed to counter that by putting Guido between the center-backs and make sure possession in that area of the pitch was assured. Did it work? Yes, to some extent it did. But Scaloni also knew that Mexico were not going to be able to keep up that pressure for the full 90 minutes. By the time he brought on Fernandez and Palacios, the Mexicans were out of gas. And they made the difference. He also has a number of players who are not entirely fit, so he needed to spare them some game time.

  8. I feel like Brazil is deep enough to win despite 1 – 2 players being out. Argentina has to play better. I believe they will. To win the tournament there play will have to improve drastically. Let's wait and see…

  9. Although Argentina won but this team doesn't have the power to lift the trophy. The match was not good , except messsi and di Maria nobody made any impact. I am not sure if they can beat Poland.

  21. This was a good game from Argentina…. Argentina slipping up in the first game and letting Saudi capitalize made this group the most interesting in the whole tournament. ..it will go down to the very last match!!!!

  25. Man, I rooted for Mexico only for 45 minutes plus the extras…
    I’m in poor condition right now, imagine having to support this team every single match.

    Concacaf sucks, it’s harsh but is the true.
    I really like Mexican people but they need to leave Concacaf as soon as possible, I’m talking about the teams.
    I remember America making Maracanazo in Libertadores, playing against US, Costa Rica and Canada made them soft.

  33. Clown on the right probably still deludes himself into thinking Argentina are favourites after two overall dire performances. Mexico offered nothing, played scared and Argentina struggled to break them down. One luckbox goal the keeper should’ve saved and a set piece goal won’t change anything.
